MY STORY

Freedom comes from understanding who you are.

Once I realised that — everything changed.

I spent 56 years feeling like a fish out of water.

Oscar Wilde said you may as well be yourself because everyone else is taken. But what if you don't know how to be yourself? What if everything you feel comfortable being, everyone around you is questioning? What if you want to fit in so badly — at work, at home, everywhere — that you spend your whole life swimming upstream?

That was me. For practically my entire life.

From the outside, nobody would have guessed. I was intelligent, articulate, successful. Married, a mother, a friend and confidante to many. I played my part beautifully. My mask was firmly in place.

Until it wasn't!

In 2019 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. During the pandemic I underwent surgery — and everything I thought I knew about my life began to shift.

What followed were two of the hardest years of my life. Global lockdown. Empty nest syndrome as my daughter left for university. The breakdown of my long-term relationship. Someone close to me trying to take away the roof over my head — they didn't succeed. Surgical menopause, anxiety, depression, Survivor's Guilt, and near bankruptcy. All at once.

How on earth was I going to survive all of this?

By coming back to my core beliefs. What's for you won't pass you. Every single one of us has a gift. And you can only find your way forward by truly understanding who you are.

I'd been doing this work for over 20 years. I knew what to do for others. Now I had to become my own client.

And I won't lie to you — being my own client is the hardest thing I've ever done. When you're in the middle of your own storm, it's almost impossible to see clearly. I had to fight for my own clarity the same way I help others fight for theirs. I got through it. But I also know this — you don't have to do it alone. That's exactly why I do this work.

At 56 I was formally diagnosed with ADHD — and suddenly everything made sense. The never-ending ideas, the lightning speed at which I gained mastery in anything I was interested in and also the complete disinterest in projects that didn't light me up, the weird sixth sense about other people's energies! Once I understood that I wasn't broken — just wired differently — the fog finally cleared. I could pursue the projects that bring me joy, drop the ones that don't, and stop apologising for being exactly who I am.

And then I realised something else. I wasn't the only one.

Today I work with entrepreneurs, senior leaders, young people finding their path, and everyone in between. What they all have in common is this — they are capable, passionate, and quietly exhausted from being a version of themselves that doesn't quite fit. Whether you're running a business, leading a team, or simply trying to figure out who you are — this work is for you. And I'm here.

"I wasn't broken. I was just wired differently!"

WHAT I BELIEVE

Three things I know to be true.

01

Every one of us has a gift.

The world needs you fully expressed — not a watered-down, apologetic version of yourself. Your difference is not your weakness. It's your greatest asset.

02

What's for you won't pass you.

When you stop performing and start showing up as yourself, the right people, opportunities and paths find you. Alignment is not a luxury — it's a strategy.

03

Understanding yourself is the greatest act of courage.

Not therapy. Not fixing. Just finally seeing yourself clearly — and deciding that's enough. That's where everything changes.

GAYLE IN ACTION

Ready to finally feel at home in yourself?

You don't have to do this on your own. I know — I tried. Whether you're leading a team, building something of your own, or simply trying to work out who you are underneath it all, it starts the same way: with a conversation. No pressure. No performance. Just an honest look at where you are and what you actually want next.
